Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Heroes,
What a fantastic example of love and community we have all experienced after Hurricane Harvey. Throughout the last year we all have grieved the loss and devastation Harvey has caused, but our community is growing stronger afterwards because of all of you. This is first and foremost our gracious thank you to each and every one of you for the support that we have received. Each of you were our heroes after Harvey. It is because of your support that every one of our Fulton Volunteer Fire Department members has been able to safely return to their families after the hurricane and after every tragedy that we have responded to since.
Our 100% volunteer department is funded primarily through your support during Oysterfest, and what a fun event that was this year. The second major fund raiser that helps to ensure your Fulton Volunteer Fire Department is capable of providing the community with prompt and safe Emergency Response is this letter drive.
This year we will be using your generous donations to help the fund the following safety and rescue
items:
- 2 New Thermal Imaging cameras $16,000
- 4 new Self Contained Breathing Apparatus $28,000
- 7 New VHF Mobile P25 radios for apparatus $28,800
- 1 Mobile 800MHZ lnterop Repeater for Communications Trailer $8,300.00
- Capital Savings for new scheduled Engine Replacement in next 3 years
As always, we appreciate all donations and want to thank you for your continued support. We risk what we do because we are all proud of what this community had been for decades and are excited to continue protecting our recovering and evolving home.
If you are interested in contributing your time to our community by joining our fire department family, please attend any of our weekly Thursday meetings at 7:30.
With Gratitude,
~
Rickey McLester, Fire Chief
